Ewa Michalak is a Polish indie lingerie company. You\u2019ve probably seen their work before – it\u2019s all over our social media, and I can hardly ever resist including pictures of their bras in blog posts. (Before we go any further, a note on pronunciation: we say it <\/span>A<\/i><\/b>-va Ma-<\/span><\/i>hall<\/i><\/b>-ik<\/span><\/i>. But since we don\u2019t speak Polish, that\u2019s just our best attempt, and we\u2019re definitely open to correction! Polish speakers, call us!)<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s always a big day when an Ewa order arrives at the store. Yay! Pretty, frilly, lacy things! But part of the excitement also comes from the anticipation. It often takes about a month for all these lovely things to get to us, and it\u2019s so worth the wait. Each item is handmade in Poland, and the attention to detail that comes with that really shows.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the things Ewa Michalak does differently from many lingerie designers is underwire. Their wires are an unusual shape compared to other brands; they tend to be closer set in the centre and narrower overall, making them great for projected, close-set breasts<\/a>. The silhouette these bras create is often called \u201ctwo cakes on a plate,\u201d and when you see one of Ewa\u2019s bras on a body, that phrase becomes pretty self-explanatory. They\u2019re constructed to create a very up-and-in shape: held in at the sides, and up and away from the body at the front. The word we hear most in the fitting room when someone\u2019s just put on an Ewa is, \u201cWhoa!\u201d They\u2019re definitely not low-profile – but they are a lot of fun.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are a few of the bras we love best from Ewa Michalak:<\/span><\/p>\n

Bibi<\/h4>\n

Bibi is a gorgeous balconette bra, featuring delicate stretch lace across the top of the cup and a small gem in the centre. The gem is different depending on the colour of the bra: Perla has a little pearl, while Stardust\u2019s is more of a diamond effect to match the silvery lace. This is a sexy bra that’s strong enough to pull double duty for the everyday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cappuccino<\/h4>\n

Cappuccino<\/p><\/div>\n

Cappuccino\u2019s plunge shape is perfect for lower necklines or for very close set breasts. (Lower centre wires means less wire to get in the way of closer-set breasts.) It\u2019s also got the added bonus of removable pads – great for balancing asymmetry or adding a little more ooh-la-la – and a bit of lining for the nipple-conscious. While most of the Ewa Michalak bras we carry are best suited to projected or balanced breast shapes, Cappuccino is cut a bit differently and doesn\u2019t require as much projection. And that lace overlay is just lovely!<\/span><\/p>\n

This is new to Broad – or is about to be, anyway! It’s on its way, and you’re going to want to check it out when it arrives. Gem’s the same shape as Bibi, but with a fun silvery grey flower pattern over a black background. The little button details at the straps and centre really complete the look.<\/p>\n

Have you fallen in love yet? I really can\u2019t blame you. But don\u2019t pine for them from afar – come say hello! Between the bras already in store and the ones that are on the way, you\u2019re bound to meet your true love.<\/span><\/p>\n
