A bra fitting is a collaboration between you and the bra fitter, where the fitter uses their expertise, experience and product knowledge to match you with styles best suited to your wants and needs. We aim to make bra fitting as accessible and low-stress as possible! Read on to learn about the types of bra fittings we offer.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Standard Bra Fitting<\/h4>\n

The bra fitter will measure under and across your bust, then calculate a starting size from these measurements. You\u2019ll try on a bra in this size for the fitter to assess and the fitter will explain how a bra should fit and why. Next, the fitter will select the bras best suited to your shape, size, and preferences, and you\u2019ll work together to find the ones that you like best.<\/p>\n

Size Only Fitting<\/h4>\n

The fitter will measure you, assess the fit of a bra in your starter size, explain how to tell if a bra fits, and let you know the size that fits you best. That\u2019s it!<\/p>\n

Mirror-Free Fitting<\/h4>\n

Ideally you\u2019ll make friends with the mirror and love how you look in your new bra, but we understand that mirrors are tough for some people. Don\u2019t worry! Just ask for a mirror-free fitting. We\u2019ll cover the mirror and proceed as usual.<\/p>\n

Partially Covered Fitting<\/h4>\n

To find you the best possible fit, the fitter needs to see how the bra fits your body without a shirt. Your fitter will have seen hundreds of other bodies before, and isn\u2019t there to judge yours! However, we understand that some people are uncomfortable baring that much of their bodies. If you\u2019d prefer, we can fit you with a light slip or camisole over top of the bra.<\/p>\n

Seated Fitting<\/h4>\n

What if you use a wheelchair, have an injury, or just can\u2019t stand comfortably for very long? Seated fittings are for you. The fitter will measure you while you\u2019re seated in one of our fitting room chairs or your wheelchair, if you use one. Depending on what works for you, you may stay seated for the whole fitting or stand for part of it. The fitter will follow your lead and proceed as usual.<\/p>\n

Virtual Fitting<\/h4>\n

Can’t visit us in person? Broad offers virtual bra fittings over Zoom, where you\u2019ll meet with one of our bra fitters. During the fitting you\u2019ll chat about your measurements, as well as your bra wants, needs, problems, and budget. Your fitter will also assess the fit of one of your current bras. After your appointment, your fitter will combine their extensive knowledge of our stock with the information gathered from your fitting to create a list of style and size recommendations just for you. They do! In-person fittings<\/a> are always ideal, but when those aren\u2019t possible (like during the COVID-19 pandemic) virtual fittings are a great alternative. Both types of fittings may require some trial-and-error. At an in-person appointment, this means trying on different styles and sizes until you and your fitter find the best match. In a virtual fitting, it might mean doing an exchange or two<\/a> before finding the right fit\u00a0 \u2014 but we\u2019re very often able to get it right in one go! We\u2019ve had great success with virtual bra fittings, and our clients seem to agree.<\/p>\n

Do I have to work with a bra fitter? What if I want to shop alone?<\/b><\/p>\n

Our policy is to offer as much help as you need. While our ideal service comes with a bra fitting, we completely understand if you prefer to shop our online store<\/a> without doing a virtual bra fitting first! Do you charge for a virtual bra fitting?<\/b><\/p>\n

Virtual fittings are free, and there\u2019s no pressure to buy \u2013 but we won\u2019t be surprised if you decide you do want to shop after all!<\/p>\n

Do I need to book an appointment?<\/b><\/p>\n

Yes, please! You can book your appointment here<\/a>. (Each appointment slot is for one fitting, for one person. Feel free to have a pal with you for support or assistance, but due to time constraints, we can only fit one person per appointment.)<\/p>\n

How long does a virtual fitting take?<\/b><\/p>\n

A virtual fitting may take as little as 10 minutes, or up to 30 minutes. If you\u2019ve shopped with us before, don\u2019t think your size has changed, and are just looking for some new style recommendations, it\u2019ll probably be pretty quick! If it\u2019s your first time with us, or your size has changed since you last shopped with us, it could take a little longer.<\/p>\n

Do I have to take my shirt off on camera?<\/b><\/p>\n

That\u2019s totally up to you! Our #1 priority in every bra fitting is the comfort and well-being of our clients, and we\u2019re big on informed consent as an active, ongoing conversation. All of our virtual bra fittings start with a shirts-on chat. Your fitter will ask for some measurements, as well as ask a few questions about how bras normally fit you, and what you like and don’t like in a bra. Next, your fitter will ask if you’re comfortable with removing your shirt so they can see you in just the bra. There is no right or wrong answer to this question, and you can change your mind at any time.<\/b><\/p>\n

If you do remove your shirt, your fitter will visually assess the fit of the bra, while explaining what they\u2019re checking for and asking you questions about the fit and feel of the bra. (For example, “How does the band feel? Is that wire poking you?”) As soon as your fitter is done with that visual assessment, they\u2019ll let you know so you can put your shirt back on.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t remove your shirt, your fitter will ask you to \u201cbe their eyes\u201d\u00a0 \u2014 they\u2019ll explain how you can assess the bra\u2019s fit visually and by how the bra feels on your body, and they\u2019ll ask you lots of questions about the fit and feel of the bra.<\/p>\n

My teenager needs a bra fitting. Can you do virtual bra fittings for teens?<\/b><\/p>\n

Sure can! Virtual bra fittings for teens work the same way as most virtual fittings. We know that some young people (especially if they\u2019ve never been fit for a bra before) may be more nervous or have extra questions about what to expect, and we\u2019re happy to help in any way we can. This might look like a pre-booking phone or Zoom chat to get comfy with their fitter, or just an email conversation.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve also found that it\u2019s key to give teens as much control and choice as possible in bra fittings! We encourage parents and caregivers to follow their kid\u2019s lead, and we endeavour to do the same.
